Batteries and modelling
Research on electrochemical energy storage addresses lithium-ion and emerging (next-generation) battery systems. The team combines experimental investigations with electrochemical modelling to better understand reaction kinetics, transport phenomena and interfacial processes within electrodes.
Approach
- Predictive models and parameter-identification strategies to rationalise performance limitations and degradation mechanisms.
- Coupling of electrochemical measurements with micro- and nanoscale interface characterisation (atomic force microscopy, scanning electrochemical microscopy) to link structure, mechanics and electrochemistry at electrode interfaces.
This activity is carried out in Loïc Assaud's group and connects to the wider Île-de-France battery community.
